Add a credit card or PayPal account to your Xbox LIVE payment options

You can have one or more payment options associated with your Xbox LIVE account. However, one of them must be associated with the subscription itself. Payment options can include credit cards, prepaid credit cards, and PayPal accounts, which can also be used to purchase items from Xbox LIVE.
However, if you are on the Xbox 360 Entertainment For All Plan (formerly “2 Year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract”), your account must be associated with a credit card. Pre-paid cards and PayPal are not valid payment options for this subscription. You can change your payment to another credit card, but if you do not have a credit card associated with your account and it is before the end of the two years, you are effectively canceling the subscription and will be charged an Early Termination Fee and any applicable taxes. Note PayPal is not available in all regions and is not a valid payment option for the Xbox 360 Entertainment For All Plan. For a list of supported regions, see Use PayPal with your Xbox LIVE account. To sign up for a PayPal account, go to PayPal.com.

You can easily add a payment option through your console or at Xbox.com. Here’s how:

1. Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
   Note If you’ve lost or forgotten your Microsoft account or password, see Find your Microsoft account or password.
2. Go to Settings, and then select Account.
3. Select Manage Payment Options.

1. Do one of the following:
   • Select Add Credit Card and then follow the on-screen instructions to add a new credit card.
   • Select Add PayPal to use your PayPal account on Xbox LIVE. Follow the on-screen instructions (enter your PayPal username and password) to add PayPal as a payment option.

To add a payment option

1. Go to My Account.
2. Under Payment & Billing, click Manage Payment Options.
3. If prompted, sign in using your Microsoft account (also known as Windows Live ID).
   Note If you’ve lost or forgotten your Microsoft account or password, see Find your Microsoft account or password.
4. Do one of the following:
   • Click Add a new Credit Card and enter the credit card information, then tap or click Save.
   • Click PAY with PayPal and follow the instructions to add an existing PayPal account or create a new one.
