If you have a firewall or network hardware, such as a router, you may need to make a configuration change for your computer to communicate with Xbox LIVE. This configuration change is sometimes called "opening ports" or "port forwarding."

If you still can’t sign in to Games for Windows Marketplace, contact your Internet service provider for help.
If you receive this error message, it means that you’ve entered the wrong Microsoft account (formerly “Windows Live ID”) information. Your Microsoft account is the e-mail address and password that you gave when you signed up for Games for Windows LIVE.
To resolve this problem, sign in to Games for Windows LIVE again by using your Microsoft account. If you do not have a Microsoft account, use your existing Xbox, Xbox LIVE, or Zune profile to sign up for Games for Windows LIVE, or create a profile and then sign up.

When you sign up for Games for Windows LIVE, you can select an existing Microsoft account or create a new one. (This is the Microsoft account that you will use to sign in to Games for Windows LIVE.)
If you get this error, it usually means that a network problem is keeping your computer from connecting to Games for Windows LIVE.
To resolve this problem, try the following:
If this doesn’t resolve the problem, verify that your computer is connected to the Internet by opening a web page in your browser. If you can connect to the Internet, a firewall may be preventing the connection to Games for Windows LIVE.

If you get this error message, it means that the profile you’re using is missing the correct user information to sign in to Games for Windows LIVE.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
If you get this error message, it means that your profile was used to sign in to Games for Windows LIVE on more than one computer or console at a time. Your profile can only be used to sign in to Games for Windows LIVE on one computer or console at a time.
If you are connected to Games for Windows LIVE on one computer and then you try to sign in with the same profile on another computer, the profile on the first computer will automatically be signed out.
If you get this error message, it means that there’s a problem with your Microsoft account.
