Symptom

On your computer, you’re running a Windows application that requires a Kinect for Windows sensor. However, your Kinect for Windows sensor is already being used by another Windows application.

Problem

The Kinect for Windows sensor can be used with only one Windows application at a time.

Solution

Try the following:

  1. On your computer, close the Windows application that’s currently using the Kinect for Windows sensor. (You can usually do this by right-clicking the icon in the taskbar and then clicking Close window.)
  2. On the Windows application that you want to use with the Kinect for Windows sensor, request that the application try again to find the sensor.
