If an update for an Xbox on Windows game or the Xbox on Windows Games client software is not automatically installed, you can install the update yourself.
If your Xbox on Windows game does not automatically update, be aware that game updates are typically available from the game developer's or publisher's website. For information about how to contact a game developer or publisher, see Games Support .
In Windows 7, you can obtain game updates by using Games Explorer For more information, see Games Explorer.
To download a game update in Games Explorer, follow these steps:
Open the Games folder. To do this, click Start, click Search, type games in the Search box, and then press Enter. In the list of results, click Games Explorer.
In Games Explorer, right-click the game title, and then click Check online for updates.
Install the game update after it downloads.
If your Xbox on Windows Games client software does not automatically update, a dialog box may be displayed. From that dialog box, you can update the Xbox on Windows Games client software by doing one of the following:
Manually download and install the software update
Use Microsoft Update to automatically update the software
To manually update your Xbox on Windows Games client software, follow these steps:
Download the Xbox on Windows Games client software package.

Click Run or Continue to start the installation process.
You can enable the Xbox on Windows Games client software to update itself automatically. To do this, follow these steps:
Visit Microsoft Update.
In the navigation pane, click Change settings.
Click to select the Allow all users to install updates on this computer check box, and then click OK.
Click Check online for updates from Microsoft Update.
Click Optional Updates, and then select the Xbox on Windows update.
Click OK to install the update.
The next time that a new Xbox on Windows Games update is available, Windows Update will automatically install that update.
