Solutions

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions:

Solution 1: Install and run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter

The Windows Store Apps troubleshooter can automatically identify and fix some problems with Xbox apps on your computer.

Solution 2: Verify that you're using the right computer or device

Make sure that you're playing content from the device that has your account settings and not from a different computer.

Solution 3: Check your Internet connection and network connectivity

Make sure that your device is connected to the Internet and that you are signed in to the app.

Solution 4: Check the Xbox Live service status

If you see any alerts here, wait until the service is up and running and try again:

Solution 5: Check your country/region settings

If you have recurring sign-in problems, make sure that the location of your computer matches the country/region of your account, and then restart the app. To learn more, see Regional settings for Xbox on Windows apps, which explains how to change your location settings.

Solution 6: Exit and then restart the app

If the error occurred while buying, downloading, or playing content, or after putting your device in a suspended or hibernation mode, try the following steps:

  • Exit and then restart the app.
  • Make sure that you have network connectivity or an Internet connection.

Solution 7: Check for app updates

Check for updated versions of the app you're using. To do this, open the app from the Start screen, and then look for an update notice in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Note: If you're roaming, you may be unable to access your content. Content availability varies by region.
