Use PlayTo in Xbox Music and Xbox Video

PlayTo is a feature of the Xbox 360 console that lets it receive and play streamed media from compatible devices and apps, including Xbox Music and Xbox Video.

• An Xbox 360 console with PlayTo enabled.
• A PC that is running Windows 8, along with Xbox Music or Xbox Video.
• The console and PC must be on the same network.

The following steps describe how to stream media in Xbox Music or Xbox Video. The screenshots show you the steps for Xbox Music, but the steps are the same for Xbox Video.

1. Start Xbox Music or Xbox Video.
2. Select a piece of content (a song or a video, for example) that’s stored on your PC.
3. Swipe from the right of the screen and select the Devices charm.
4. Select your console from the list of devices.

Don’t see your console in the list of devices? Here’s how to add it.

1. Swipe from the right side of your screen and select Settings.
2. Click Change PC Settings.
3. Choose Devices from the navigation pane on the left.
4. Click the + (plus) symbol to add a device on the right.
5. Choose your Xbox 360 console.
