This page describes how to delete security information from your Microsoft account. Security information consists of an email address and/or phone number that you provide to us, which we use to verify your identity.
Remove an individual phone number or email address
On the Home screen, select Security & privacy, and thenselect More security settings.
If you receive a security code via text or email to verify that you’re the account owner, follow the instructions to enter that code.
On the Security settings page, verify that you have at least one phone number or one email address set up to use for security under the Security info helps keep your account secure section.
Note If you have only one type of security info listed (for example, only a phone number and no email address), you’ll need to add your new phone number or email address before removing the old one. Here’s how:
Select Add security info.
In the Add security info box, select either A phone number or An alternate email address, and then enter your information.
Select Next, and then follow the instructions to verify.
Select Remove next to the phone number or email address you want to remove.
You'll receive a notification at your existing email address or phone number. This is a precaution in case someone else made the change. If that happens, you can cancel the change by following the instructions you received with your notification.
