Renew your Xbox Music Pass

Overview

When you purchase an Xbox Music Pass, it’s set by default to renew automatically. This means your credit card will be billed on a specified date to renew your subscription.

However, you can modify your subscription so that it expires at the end of its term. This means that your credit card won’t be charged automatically. It also means you’ll have to go through the purchase process again to renew your subscription. To find out how to do this, go to Cancel your Xbox Music Pass.

If you already have the expiration option set up, and you want your Xbox Music Pass to renew automatically instead, this page shows you how.

Set your Xbox Music Pass to automatically renew

  1. In a browser, sign in to Xbox Live using your Microsoft account at any xbox.com page (such as this one).

Note Be sure to sign in using the Microsoft account associated with the Xbox Live account you want to manage. If you don't know your Microsoft account email address and password, see Find your Microsoft account email address or password.

  1. After you've signed in, click My Account in the upper-right corner of your screen.

  1. On the My Account page, under Xbox Music, it will say Expires on with the expiration date following. (If it’s set for automatic renewal, it will say Renews on with the renewal date following.)

    Select Xbox Music.

You’ll be taken to your subscriptions page. You’ll now see an automatic renewal date next to your Xbox Music Pass membership, along with the option to Cancel automatic payment.

This means you’ve successfully set up automatic renewal. For more information about canceling your auto renewal, or canceling your membership altogether, see Cancel Your Xbox Music Pass.
