The new Xbox 360 Media Remote helps you maximize your Xbox experience. It does so, by allowing you to control your Xbox 360 DVD and CD playback, your media playback through Xbox LIVE or TV service on your Xbox 360 console, the Xbox Dashboard, and the power and volume controls for many TVs.

Before your media remote can work with your television set, you need to program it for use with your particular brand of TV. There are two ways to program your media remote: manually entering your TV code or scanning to find your TV code.
Note After 30 seconds of inactivity, the media remote will exit the TV programming mode. Pressing any button besides Select, 0–9, or Channel Up/Down returns the media remote to its original mode and ends programming mode.

You can look up your code on our website and then enter the code using your remote control.
When the correct code has been entered, you should be able to press the TV Power button and the Volume button on the remote to control your TV. If it doesn’t work, return to step 2.
NotesYou can send a sequence of codes to from your remote to your TV to find the right code for your TV, if you do not know it.
If your TV turns off but you then accidently continue to press Channel Up to continue past the correct code, press Channel Down to go back to the correct code. Your TV will turn on again when you go back to the correct code. Press the Select button to confirm your code.
NotesIn default settings, the media remote will only control the Xbox 360 console. Volume and Mute buttons will control TV service through your Xbox 360 console.
