Set up and use the Xbox 360 Chatpad

Chatting with your friends on Xbox LIVE is easy when you use the Xbox 360 Chatpad.

Attach the chatpad to an Xbox 360 controller so that you can quickly send text messages and enter text.

Connect the Xbox 360 Chatpad to a controller

Set up is easy. First, connect your controller.

Notes

  • The Xbox 360 Chatpad is for use exclusively with Xbox 360 wired or wireless controllers.
  • The Xbox 360 Chatpad cannot be used on a controller that is connected to a personal computer.

1. Turn the controller and the Xbox 360 Chatpad so that the bottom of each faces up.

2. Align the chatpad connector plug with the controller's expansion port. Align the two posts on the chatpad with the holes on the controller.

3. Push the chatpad onto the controller with even pressure until they snap together. There should be no gaps.

You can plug an Xbox 360 Wired Headset or a mobile phone headset into the chatpad. Plug your headset into the 2.5-mm audio jack on the chatpad.

A few tips to get you started…

  • All the characters on the chatpad are lowercase. Press SHIFT to make a capital letter.

  • Press the Windows Live Messenger button for quick access to text messages.

  • The keys are backlit so that you can type in the dark.
