Troubleshoot A&E issues

Overview

The article describes how to resolve problems with the A&E app on Xbox 360.

Xbox Live connection problems

If the A&E app isn’t functioning smoothly on your console, you may have a connectivity problem. See the Xbox Live Slow Performance Solution.

Xbox 360 audio/video problems

If your Xbox 360 console isn’t providing good-quality video or audio, see Xbox 360 audio or video problems.

The A&E app doesn't respond

  6. Select Delete.
  7. Return to the Xbox Dashboard.
  8. Go to Browse Apps, and then select A&E.
  9. Select Confirm Download to download and install the app.

If you keep getting this error, contact Xbox Support.

Error messages

You may get one of the following error messages when you try to use the A&E app.

Connectivity errors

  • Sorry, the A&E server isn’t available right now. Please try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status.

Go to Service status to make sure that there’s no current issue with the service.

If there’s no current issue and you get this error when you try to start the A&E app or access content in the app, wait about a minute and then restart the app.

If you continue to get the error, delete and reinstall the A&E app.

If this didn’t resolve the problem, contact Xbox Support.

Note A&E is responsible for all support issues related to content in the A&E app. You can contact A&E by email at watchapps@aenetworks.com.

Availability errors

  • The item you were looking for is no longer available.

If you get this error, wait about a minute and then try to access the item again.

If you continue to get the error, select something else to watch.

To notify A&E of the content error, send email to watchapps@aenetworks.com.

Account errors

  • Your console Ratings system is not supported by the application. The application only supports US Ratings system. You can turn off content controls in Settings, Family.
  • Your Parental Control settings do not allow you to view this network. Please contact A&E for more information.

This error means that your Xbox 360 locale is not set to the United States, or there’s an issue with the content controls (also known as parental controls).

To resolve this error, first make sure your Xbox 360 region is set to the United States. For help, see Change your Xbox 360 settings.

If you continue to get this error even with your locale set to the United States, there may be an issue with the content controls. Try turning off the content controls, at least temporarily. Here’s how:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to settings and select Family.
  2. Enter your pass code to continue.
  3. Set Content Controls to “Off.

For more information about content and parental controls, see Set parental controls for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live.

Application errors

  • Please try again later.
  • User has too many streams opened.

This error occurs if the TV provider account has been locked out, usually for 24 hours. Either wait 24 hours or contact your TV provider.
