Troubleshoot Xbox Live apps on Xbox 360

This page offers several troubleshooting methods you can try if you have a problem with any app on Xbox Live.

Overview

If you receive an error message

Sometimes when you receive an error message when using an app, the problem is only temporary. Try the following:

  • Wait for about one minute, and then try to use the app again.
  • Check the status of the app at Xbox service status.

If neither of these solutions resolves the problem, try the next solution.

If the app doesn’t respond

If the app doesn’t respond to input, delete the app and download it again. Here’s how:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to Settings and select System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device (typically, this will be the Xbox 360 Hard Drive).
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and select any items that refer to the app you’re going to delete.
  6. Press Y, and then select Delete.
  7. Return to the Xbox Dashboard.
  8. Go to Browse Apps and select the app you want to download.
  9. Select Confirm Download to download and install the app.
