The BYUtv app doesn't respond

If the BYUtv app doesn't respond, delete and reinstall it. Here's how:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to settings and then System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device.
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and highlight the BYUtv app. Press the Y button to access Game Options.
  6. Select Delete, and then confirm that you want to delete all items related to the app.
  7. Go back to the Dashboard.
  8. Go to apps and then Browse Apps or Search Apps.
  9. Browse or search for the BYUtv app and then select it.
  10. Select Download and then Confirm Purchase to download and install the app.

If the app still doesn't respond, contact Xbox Support.

Error messages

You may get one of the following error messages when you try to use the BYUtv app.

Availability errors

  • Sorry, the BYUtv server isn't available right now. Please select the retry button below or try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status.
  • The Application has encountered an unexpected error and will now exit.
  • Sorry, the BYUtv server isn't available right now. Please select the retry button below or try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status
  • BYUtv Server unavailable.
  • A server or network error has occurred. Please try again later.
  • An unknown error has occurred.
  • An internal error has occurred.

To resolve the error, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Xbox Live Status to make sure there are no issues with the service.
  2. If there are no reported issues and you get the error when you try to launch the BYUtv app or access content in the app, wait about a minute then try again.
  3. If you continue to get the error, delete and reinstall the BYUtv app.
  4. If the problem is not resolved, contact Xbox Support.

Video errors

  • The video cannot be played at this time.
  • A missing data error has occurred
  • Sorry, the video you were interested in is no longer available.

To resolve the error, follow these steps:

  1. Wait about a minute and then try to access the program again.
  2. If you continue to get the error, select a different program to watch.
