This article describes how to resolve problems with the Fox News app on Xbox 360.

Xbox Live connection problems

The Fox News app doesn't respond

If the Fox News app doesn’t respond, delete and reinstall it. Here’s how:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to settings and then System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device.
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and select any items that refer to "Fox News."
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Return to the Xbox Dashboard.
  8. Go to Browse Apps or Search Apps, and then browse or search for the Fox News app.
  9. Select the Fox News app, and then select Confirm Download to download and install the app.

If you keep experiencing the problem, contact Xbox Support.

Error messages

You may get one of the following error messages when you try to use the Fox News app.

Connectivity and application errors

  • Sorry, the Fox News server isn’t available right now. Please select the retry button below or try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status.
  • The Application has encountered an unexpected error and will now exit.
  • Sorry, the Fox News server isn’t available right now. Please select the retry button below or try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status.
  • Fox News Server unavailable.
  • A server or network error has occurred. Please try again later.
  • An unknown error has occurred.
  • An internal error has occurred.

Go to Service status to make sure that there isn’t an issue with the service provider.

If there is no issue and you receive this error message when you try to launch the Fox News app or content within the app, wait for approximately one minute. Then, try to launch the app again.

If you continue to receive this error, delete the Fox News app and reinstall it.

If you keep experiencing the problem, contact Xbox Support.

Availability errors

  • The video cannot be played at this time.
  • A missing data error has occurred
  • Sorry, the video you were interested in is no longer available.

If you get one of these error messages, wait for approximately one minute. Then, try to play the content again.

If you continue to receive the error, return to the prior menu and select different piece of content to watch.
