Overview

This article describes how to resolve problems with the GameTrailers app on Xbox 360.

The GameTrailers app doesn't respond

If the GameTrailers app doesn’t respond to input, delete and reinstall it.  Here’s how:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, select settings and then System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device (most likely Xbox 360 Hard Drive).
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and select any items that refer to “GameTrailers.”
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Return to the Xbox Dashboard.
  8. Go to Browse Apps, and then select GameTrailers.
  9. Select Confirm Download to download and install the app.

If you keep experiencing the problem, contact Xbox Support.

Error messages

You may get one of the following error messages when you use the GameTrailers app:

  • Sorry, the item you're interested in is no longer available.

This error can occur if the content that you’re trying to watch has been removed. This error can also occur if there’s a temporary connection problem.

To troubleshoot this issue, follow these steps:

    1. If you get this error when you try to view content, wait for about a minute and then try again.
    2. If you continue to experience this error, select a different piece of content to watch.

Note To notify GameTrailers of the content error or other errors related to the GameTrailers app, email GameTrailers.

  • The Application has encountered an unexpected error and will now exit.
  • Sorry, the GameTrailers service isn’t available right now. Please try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status
  • Sorry, the GameTrailers server isn’t available right now. Please exit the application and try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status

These errors can occur if there’s a temporary problem with the Xbox Live service or a temporary connection problem.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Service status page to check if there’s a current issue with the service provider.
  2. If there is no issue with the service provider and you get this error when you try to start the GameTrailers app, wait for about a minute and try again.
  3. If you continue to get the error, delete and reinstall the GameTrailers app.
  4. If these steps didn’t resolve your problem, use the “Contact us” link at the bottom of this page to contact Xbox Support.

  • Your console Ratings system is not supported by the application. The application only supports US Ratings system. You can turn off content controls in Settings, Family.

This error can occur because the GameTrailers app only uses the U.S. rating system. If you are in the U.S. region, make sure that your locale is set to United States. If you are outside the U.S. region, you’ll need to adjust your parental control settings for the GameTrailers app to function correctly.
