Troubleshoot the Mustang Customizer app

Overview

Learn how to troubleshoot problems with the Mustang Customizer app on Xbox Live.

The Mustang Customizer app does not respond

If the Mustang Customizer app doesn’t respond to input, delete and reinstall the app. Here’s how:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to Settings and then System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device (most likely Xbox 360 Hard Drive).
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and select any items that refer to “Mustang Customizer.”
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Return to the Xbox Dashboard.
  8. Go to Apps Marketplace, and then select Mustang Customizer.
  9. Select Confirm Download to download and install the app.

Error messages

You may get one of the following kinds of error messages when you try to use the Mustang Customizer app.

  • Connectivity errors

    Error messages:

    • Can’t connect to the <Provider> Service. Error code: 0C01/8009/0304
    • Server Unavailable
    • The Mustang Application server is not available at this time.
      Please try again later.

    These errors are linked to communications with the Ford Motor Company's computer servers. You can continue to try the app until the issue is resolved, or contact Ford Support for further assistance.

  • App errors

    Error messages:

    • Problem With the Application
    • The Application has encountered an unexpected error and will now exit.
    • Can't save your vehicle right now, please try again later.

    If you get one of these error messages, go to Service status to check for problems with Xbox Live or with the Mustang Customizer app.

    If there’s no problem and you get one of these error messages when you try to start the Mustang Customizer app, wait about a minute and try starting the app again.

    If you still get the error message, try deleting and reinstalling the app.

    If you continue to get one of these errors, try to improve your connection speed.

    If none of these solutions work, contact Xbox Support.

  • Availability errors

    Error messages:

    • Item Unavailable
    • Sorry, the item you're interested in is no longer available.

    If you get one of these error messages, select a different piece to rate or modify.

    These errors are related to communications with the Ford Motor Company's computer servers. You can continue to try the app until the issue is resolved or contact Ford Support for more help.

  • Account errors

    Error messages:

    • Your profile is limited
    • To use this feature make sure both "Voice and Text" privilege and "Member Content" privilege are set to "Everyone"
    • Child account signed in
    • We're sorry. In order to use this application, you must ensure that no child account is signed in to Xbox Live.

    Child accounts may have problems using the Mustang Customizer app if Xbox Family Settings are being used on your console.

    If you use Family Settings to control what your family can share through Xbox Live, the Mustang Customizer app will follow these settings. For example, if you prohibit Social Network Sharing on your console, the Mustang Customizer app will allow the user to customize a car but not store it in their garage or battle against other cars. To edit these settings, an adult must edit the Social Network Sharing privacy settings.

  • Appropriate content errors

    Error messages:

    • Car name cannot be empty.
    • The text you've entered contains inappropriate content.
      Please try again later.

    If you get one of these error messages, enter a car name if you haven't, or enter a new car name and be sure that there is no profanity or anything in the name that could be considered inappropriate.

  • Unsaved content errors

    Error messages:

    • You are about to leave the customization experience. Your vehicle is still unsaved, do really you want to leave?
      Yes/No

    Your car will not be added or saved to your garage unless you select Yes.
