Troubleshoot the Syfy app on Xbox 360

This article describes how to resolve problems with the Syfy app on Xbox 360.

The Syfy app doesn't respond

If the Syfy app doesn’t respond, delete and reinstall it. Here’s how:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to settings and then System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device.
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and select any items that refer to "Syfy."
  6. Select Delete.
  7. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to apps and then Browse apps.
  8. Select the Syfy app.
  9. Select Confirm Download to download and install the app.

If the problem isn’t resolved, contact Xbox Support.

Error messages

You might get one of the following error messages when you use the Syfy app:

If you get this error message, do this:

I’m afraid I can’t do that, Dave.

The content you requested is not available at this time. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over. Oh, and please try again.

There was an error loading the video that you wanted to watch. You can try to view it again or browse or search the video catalog to select another video to watch.

The Syfy app doesn't respond

Delete the Syfy app, and then download it again:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to settings and then System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device (most likely the Xbox 360 Hard Drive).
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and select any items that refer to “SyFy.”
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Return to the Xbox Dashboard.
  8. Go to apps, select Browse Apps, and select SyFy.
  9. Select Confirm Download to download and install the app.
