Xbox Live connection problems

Xfinity On Demand app does not respond

Delete the Xfinity app and download it again.

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to Settings, and select System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select your primary storage device (typically, the Xbox 360 Hard Drive).
  4. Select Games and Apps.
  5. Find and select any items that refer to Xfinity.
  6. Press Y and then select Delete.
  7. Return to the Xbox Dashboard.
  8. Move to Apps, select Browse Apps, select TV, and then select Xfinity.
  9. Select Confirm Download to download and install the app.

Error messages

If you get an error when you install or run the Xfinity app on your Xbox 360 console, check the following list to find the error message you received and learn how to resolve the problem.

“Unable to activate” errors

If you receive a “We were unable to activate XFINITY® TV on Xbox 360®” error message, see Xfinity app “unable to activate” error messages.

Authentication errors

“Service is unavailable” errors

“Subscribe to watch” errors

“Xcalibur session token expired” error

“Server unavailable” error

“Username or password is incorrect” error

If you receive an “Either the username or password is incorrect” error message, see Xfinity app “username or password is incorrect” error messages.

Note This applies to Xfinity app error codes 998.

“The username and password entered do not match" error

Make sure that you’re using your Primary ID to activate the Xfinity TV app on your Xbox 360 console. If you can’t remember your Primary ID or if you continue to have issues after trying again, contact Xfinity by calling (877) 599-1846.

If you can’t remember your Comcast ID, go to the Sign in to Comcast page and follow the steps to recover your username or your password.

  • Note This applies to Xfinity app error codes 802 or 998.

Error code 4004

If you see error code 4004 - Xfinity when you’re trying to start the Xfinity app, it may mean that you are not using an Xfinity residential Internet service. Or, it may mean that you are not using your Comcast ID or full Comcast.net email address and password to sign in to the Xfinity service.

Error code 4004 - Xfinity is preceded by the following message:

The Xfinity license server is unavailable.

  • To resolve this error, try the following solutions;
    • Make sure you use your Comcast ID or full Comcast.net email address and password to sign in to the Xfinity app.
