Seeing an E74 error message when you turn on your original Xbox 360 console?

Overview

If you turn on your original Xbox 360 console and see the following error on your TV or monitor:

System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support.

This message means that your Xbox 360 console has failed and must be repaired.

The warranty period for the E74 error is three years from the original purchase date of the console. If your console is not covered by the three-year warranty period, you can still get your console repaired for a fee.
