Disney Pixar Rush

Navigating the game world

Disney Pixar Rush uses the Kinect sensor to track your body as you walk around the game world. Getting from place to place is as easy as moving your arms and legs to simulate walking and turning your shoulders to turn.

Note You cannot use your Xbox 360 controller to navigate in Disney Pixar Rush.

My scanned character doesn’t look like me

Disney Pixar Rush uses the Kinect sensor to scan your body and create an in-game character. If you’re not satisfied with the results, you can select Try again or Update. Sliders on either side of the scanner will let you know if your room is too bright and how the scan is progressing.

Remember that in Disney Pixar Rush, the Kinect sensor is trying to create an animated avatar that fits the style of the game based on your appearance. The avatar won’t be an exact replica of you.

My screen freezes

If your Xbox 360 console stops responding (or "freezes") when you try to play Disney Pixar Rush, try the following solutions to fix the problem.

Solution 1: Inspect and clean your disc

If you’re trying to play a disc, take a close look at the back your game, movie, or music disc. Are there scratches? Excessive scratches or smudges can cause your Xbox 360 console to freeze.

Clean your disc

  1. Hold the disc by the edges without touching the top or bottom surfaces.

  1. Using a soft, clean cloth, gently wipe from the center of the disc outward.
Note Use ONLY water to clean the disc.

  1. Once the disc is clean, load the disc into your Xbox 360 console and see if your console freezes again.

If your console still freezes, try the next solution.

Solution 2: Try another disc

Try another disc to determine whether the problem happens with any disc or a particular disc.

  1. Find another disc of the same type. For example, if your screen freezes with a game disc, find another game disc.
  2. Load the new disc into the console.

  1. See if the console freezes again.

If your console doesn’t freeze with another disc of the same type, the specific disc you’re using might be the source of the problem. To find out how to get a replacement disc, see Xbox 360 game replacement.

If your console still freezes, try the next solution.

Solution 3: Does the problem happen only with Xbox Live?

Does your console freeze only when you play something on Xbox Live? Try playing offline content such as a game disc. If your screen freezes only when playing on Xbox Live, the problem might be related to your Internet connection.

To resolve this problem, try the solutions at Improve Xbox Live speed.

If your console freezes when you’re not playing on Xbox Live, try the next solution.

Solution 4: Move your console

It's important to keep your console in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.

  1. Turn off the console.
  2. Move the console to an open, well-ventilated area, away from all other electronic devices.

Tips for positioning your console

  • Put the console in an open area with lots of ventilation. Do not put your console in an enclosed space.
  • Do not stack electronic devices on or under your console.
  • Make sure the console and its power supply are on a hard surface. Do not put your console on something soft (like a bed, sofa, or rug).
  • Keep the console away from heat sources, such as ventilation openings on televisions and electronic devices. Also, keep the console away from heating vents and direct sunlight.
  1. Turn on the console.

If your console still freezes, try the next solution.

Solution 5: Clean your system cache

If your console is not freezing with a particular disc or game, try clearing the console’s system cache.

If you do this and the console still freezes, try the next solution.

Solution 6: Remove your hard drive

If your console has a hard drive, the screen freeze problem might be related to the hard drive. To see if this is true, try removing the hard drive temporarily.

  1. Turn off the console.
  2. Remove the hard drive.
  3. Turn on your console.
  4. Try to reproduce the freeze problem.

If removing your hard drive resolves your screen freeze problem, you can order a replacement Xbox 360 Hard Drive from the Xbox Online Service Center. Console registration is required to replace a hard drive under warranty (the hard drive warranty is the same as your console warranty).

If your console still freezes, try the next solution.

Solution 7: Request a repair

If the steps above did not resolve your screen freeze problem, your console might need to be repaired. Submit an online repair order.
