Teach Kinect to recognize you
Set up a Kinect ID
You can teach Kinect to recognize your face and automatically sign you in to your profile using Kinect ID.
To set up a Kinect ID- Go to Settings, and then select Kinect.
- Select Kinect ID Setup.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your Kinect ID so that Kinect can recognize you.

- Move to the green square. If you can't reach a square, wait until the square changes and move to the next one.
You will be asked to hold different poses while the sensor learns to identify you.

Once your Kinect ID is set up, you only need to face the sensor for a few seconds before Kinect signs you in to your profile.

- Run Kinect ID setup in various lighting conditions to improve Kinect ID accuracy. Kinect ID remembers your previous sessions and improves recognition each time it is run.
- Kinect can identify up to four different players at once using Kinect ID.
Change or remove your Kinect ID
- Go to Settings, and then select Kinect.
- Select Kinect ID Setup.
- Select your profile.

- Choose to Update or Remove your Kinect ID.

Kinect ID not working?
If the Kinect sensor is not recognizing you…
- Make sure your console software is up to date. Sign in using an Xbox LIVE gamertag. If a console update is available, select Yes to update your console software.
- Make sure you have good lighting and that you position the Kinect sensor so it can see your face.
Kinect needs a clear view of your face

- Make sure your face is well lit from the front without shadows or backlighting.
- Don’t hide your features with sunglasses, a hood, or a hat.
Kinect needs to see your whole body
|

- Place your sensor between 2 feet (0.6 m) and 6 feet (1.8 m) off the ground.
- Center the sensor above your TV, and face it directly toward you.
- Stand at least 6 feet (1.8 m) from the sensor.
- If you change your hairstyle or facial hair, set up your Kinect ID again.
- Clean the lens on your Kinect sensor.
If none of these suggestions work, try setting up your Kinect ID again.
Kinect is not signing you into Xbox LIVE?
If you have a pass code or password on your Xbox LIVE account, you will need to enter your pass code or password using the Xbox Dashboard.
