When the Kinect sensor is active, a window appears in the lower-right corner of the Dashboard. This window means that you can use gestures. If you can’t see yourself in the window use the Kinect Tuner.

When you see this icon, wave your hand by moving your forearm left and right. If you wave at the Xbox Dashboard, the hand cursor will appear and you can now use gestures to navigate instead of a controller.
If you’re having trouble, watch the animation to learn how to wave to Kinect.

To move to the next hub in the dashboard using gestures, move the cursor to the edge of the screen using your right hand, and “swipe” across your body. Use your left hand and move the cursor to the left side of the screen and swipe to go to the previous hub.

Use the Kinect Guide gesture to pause game play or open the Kinect Guide.
To do this, position both arms at your sides. Now move your left arm straight out at a 45 degree angle from your body.
