Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor won’t start error

Solution: The Kinect Sensor won’t start error

picture

Follow the steps below if the light on your Kinect sensor for Xbox 360 is red and you receive the following message on your screen:

The Kinect Sensor couldn't start.

Make sure the sensor is at room temperature, unplug it, and plug it back in again. If the problem persists, unplug the sensor and then plug it in again.

This error means the Kinect sensor is very cold and needs to warm up. Here’s what to do to fix this problem:

  1. Turn off your Xbox 360 console.
  2. Wait for the Kinect sensor to reach room temperature (approximately 70 °F or 21 °C). The sensor should not be cold to the touch.
  3. Turn your console on to see if the problem still occurs.

If these steps do not solve the problem, the sensor will need to be repaired. Start the online repair process.
