Follow the steps below if the light on your sensor is red and you receive the following message on your screen:
The Kinect Sensor couldn't start.
Make sure the sensor is at room temperature, unplug it, and plug it back in again. If the problem persists, unplug your sensor plug it back in again.
This error means the Kinect sensor is very cold and needs to warm up. Here’s what to do to fix this problem:
If these steps do not solve the problem, the sensor will need to be repaired. Start the online repair process .
