"The Kinect sensor needs an update" error

Solution

The Kinect sensor needs an update (C0050006)
To get the update, restart your console.

This message means that your Xbox 360 console or Kinect sensor needs a software update. When you see this message, select Yes to download and apply the software update. The update is automatically applied the next time you start your console and connect to Xbox LIVE.

If you don’t have access to Xbox LIVE, insert an Xbox Kinect game disc into the console to obtain the update.
