Fix Xbox Kinect USB bandwidth exceeded and USB connection problem errors

Follow the steps below, if you see one of the following error messages:

USB bandwidth exceeded. (C0051010)

There's a USB connection problem. (C0051011)

  1. Turn off the console.
  2. Unplug the Kinect sensor and any USB accessories from your console.
  3. Plug the sensor cable into the AUX port on the back of the console.
  4. Important Remove the power/USB adapter cable, if your Kinect sensor came with one.

  5. Turn on the console.
  6. One by one, plug each USB accessory back into the console to see if one of the accessories causes the problem. If you continue to see the USB error message, you might need to reduce the number of accessories attached to the console.

  1. Turn off the console.

  3. Make sure the power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
  4. Make sure the Kinect USB connector is plugged into the back of the console.
  5. Turn on the console.
  6. One by one, plug each USB accessory back into the console to see if one of the accessories causes the problem. If you continue to see the Kinect USB error message, you might need to reduce the number of accessories attached to the console.
