If the light on your Kinect sensor is red, the sensor might not be connected properly or your console software might need updating. You might also receive one of the following errors:
A problem has occurred with your Kinect Sensor (C000022D)
A problem has occurred with your Kinect Sensor (C00000C2)
A problem has occurred with your Kinect Sensor (C000009c)
Here’s what to do to fix the problem:

The light located near the middle of the cable should be green.
No green light? Try plugging the cable into another outlet to make sure the cable is working properly. If you need to replace the cable, contact Xbox Support. See the Assistance section at the bottom of this page for more information.
4. Turn on the console.
