"Too close" or "Too far away" Kinect error

Troubleshooting

If you see one of the following messages, Kinect is having a difficult time seeing you:

Too far away (809B100A)
Kinect can barely see you. Move closer and try again.

Too close (809B100B)
You're standing too close to the sensor. Move farther away and try again.

To resolve this problem, try using the Kinect Tuner. Learn how.

If you have already tried using the Kinect Tuner, try calibrating the Kinect sensor. Learn how.

If you continue to see this message after running the tuner and recalibrating the Kinect sensor, please contact Xbox Support. See the Assistance section at the bottom of this page for more information.
