If you have more than one Xbox 360 console or you want to play games at a friend’s house, you might want to download your Xbox LIVE profile to multiple consoles.
You might want to download your Xbox LIVE gamer profile in the following situations:
You can download your Xbox LIVE gamertag to any console. Here’s how:
Note Not seeing Download Profile? Press X to sign out of your profile.
Note If your account is an Xbox LIVE child account, the parent’s Windows Live ID information is required to download the profile.
Your profile will begin downloading. Once your profile is downloaded, you can choose whether or not you want to require your Windows Live ID password to sign into your profile.

The Remember Password option is off by default, which means you’ll be prompted for your Windows Live ID password when you sign into your Xbox LIVE profile.
Note If you’re downloading your profile to your own console, you can select the Remember Password option so that you aren’t prompted for your Windows Live ID password when you sign into your profile.
You can now sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag on this console.
Important If you downloaded your profile to another console and you chose the Remember Password option, you can remotely remove the password so that your profile can’t be accessed on the other console. To learn how to do this, see Password protect your Xbox LIVE profile.
If you don’t want to download your profile to another console using the above steps, you can move your profile to another console using a USB flash drive or Xbox 360 Memory Unit. Here’s how:
When you use the profile for the first time on a console, you will be prompted to enter your Windows Live ID password to sign in.
Important When you move your profile to another console, you’ll be prompted for your Windows Live ID password. This password requirement is to protect the security of your account if your storage device is lost or stolen. For information on how to protect your profile, see Password protect your Xbox LIVE profile.
When you’re done playing on your friend’s console, take the USB flash drive or memory unit back home and plug it into your console. If you want to move your profile back to your hard drive, go back to Settings, Storage.
You can delete profiles that you no longer use from your console. Here’s how:
