Install SmartGlass on devices running Windows

Overview

Get the free download of Xbox SmartGlass from the Windows Store. Then, use the SmartGlass app to turn your Windows Phone or tablet into a controller for your Xbox 360 console. The following video shows you how.

SmartGlass requirements for devices running Windows

To use SmartGlass on Windows you need:

  • A tablet or PC running Windows 8 or Windows RT
  • A Microsoft account and an associated Xbox LIVE profile
  • An Internet connection or local network connection capable of connecting to your Xbox 360 console

Note SmartGlass performance varies based on the speed of your network connection and the processing power of your tablet or PC.

Download and Install SmartGlass from the Windows Store

  1. Open the Start screen on your Windows-based device or PC.
  2. Select Windows Store.
  3. Open the Entertainment category.
  4. Choose the Xbox SmartGlass app.
  5. Click Install.
  6. When the installation completes, an Xbox SmartGlass tile is available on your Start screen.
