If you can’t connect to Xbox LIVE, do one of the following:

  • Try our step-by-step Xbox LIVE Connect Solution.
  • Click the error that you’re getting in the list below, and read the troubleshooting article on common Xbox LIVE connection problems.

If you don't know which error you're getting, test your Xbox LIVE connection. Here's how:

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings.
  2. Select Network Settings.
  3. Select Wired Network or your wireless network name (if you are prompted to do so).
  4. Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.
  5. Select More Info to find out why you can’t connect to Xbox LIVE.

Testing your connection to Xbox LIVE shows you errors and Xbox LIVE service alerts. You can also check for service alerts at Xbox LIVE status.
