Using SmartGlass

Overview

SmartGlass brings new features and options to your Xbox 360 experience, allowing you to control your console with a connected device, such as a Windows phone, and enjoy rich SmartGlass content.

App requirements

To use the SmartGlass Experience, you need:

  • A SmartGlass-enabled compatible device
  • An Xbox 360 game or Xbox app that contains SmartGlass content
  • The most recent software update for your Xbox 360 console

Getting Started

Getting started is as easy as enabling SmartGlass on your Xbox 360 console and SmartGlass-compatible device and then signing in.

See the following pages to learn how to install and set up the SmartGlass Experience on your devices:

When the SmartGlass Experience is turned on across your devices, sign in to your Xbox 360 console using your Xbox Live profile. Then, sign in to your device using the Microsoft account associated with that profile. When you're connected, you'll see a notification on your console.

Using SmartGlass

When the Smartglass Experience is turned on, you'll be able to view recent Xbox Live account activity, launch titles, and browse content for your Xbox 360. When a game or app that has SmartGlass content is started on your console, that game or app will automatically launch its SmartGlass activity or, in the case of multiple activities, present you with a list to choose from.

Note Not all games and apps support the SmartGlass Experience, and content varies between apps. For more information on using SmartGlass Experience, see the publisher of the specific game or app.
