How to buy music through the Xbox Music Store for Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1
The Xbox Music Store gives you full access to one of the largest music catalogs on the planet, with more than 18 million songs. Buy full albums or just your favorite songs through the Music app in Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1.
From the Start screen in Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1, tap or click Music.
To find an artist or a specific song or album, begin typing. The search pane appears on the right-hand side of your screen. Or, on your screen, select the artist or music that you’re interested in.
To buy a song, right-click or tap and hold a song. A window will pop up where you can then select Buy song.
To buy an album, tap or click the album you want. Then tap or click the link to buy the album.
Sign in to your Microsoft account and confirm your purchase.
You don’t need a Music Pass to buy songs or albums. However, you may need a Music Pass to stream music.
Child accounts linked to a parent account are prevented from purchasing music in the Windows app on 8 or 8.1 (this may change in a future update). Child accounts without a parent are not subject to this restriction.
