Fix SmartGlass connection and performance issues on mobile devices

Overview

You can use SmartGlass on your PC, tablet, or smartphone to get the most from your Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles. SmartGlass lets you browse and control your console, and you can explore additional features or options with some apps and games.

This article describes how to troubleshoot SmartGlass connection and performance issues.

Solutions

The SmartGlass app is slow to respond, or you get a slow-connection message

Solution for phones and tablets

Connect your phone to your home wireless network. Although your smartphone or tablet can communicate with your console over a cellular network, you will get the best performance if your phone is connected to the same wireless network as your console.

Solution for Windows PCs

The SmartGlass app can’t find or connect to your console

Make sure you’re using the same Microsoft account

If SmartGlass can’t find your Xbox, make sure the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox Live gamertag is the same Microsoft account that you use to sign in to SmartGlass. If you don’t know the Microsoft account that is associated with your Xbox Live account, see Find your Microsoft account or password.
