How to change the display resolution for your TV on your Xbox One console

Your Xbox One console automatically detects the display resolution on your TV. However, on rare occasions, your console may not detect the TV’s resolution correctly.

If this happens, don’t worry. It’s easy to change the display resolution for your TV. Here’s how:

  1. Press the Xbox button to return to the dashboard.
  2. Press the Menu button and select Settings.
  3. Select Display & sound in the Console column.
  4. Select TV resolution, and then select 720p or 1080p, whichever is best for your TV.

Note If you don’t see the resolution for your TV, verify that the option to only show the current resolution for your TV is not checked.
