How to configure audio settings on your Xbox One console

This page describes how to configure the audio settings for your Xbox One console.

Xbox One supports both HDMI and optical audio connections, and a variety of compressed, uncompressed, and surround sound signal formats. These formats depend on your system and may differ from the formats shown here. Adjusting these settings is usually only necessary when using a surround-sound home theater.
