Error 80151904 occurs when signing in to Xbox Live

Overview

You see the following error message when you try to sign in to Xbox Live:

Sorry, Xbox Live profiles can't be downloaded right now. Please try again later.

Status Code 80151904

This may mean that there’s a problem with your profile.

Solutions

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions.

Solution 1: Clear the system cache

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings and select System Settings.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller. (It doesn't matter which storage device you select; the cache will be cleared for all storage devices.)
  4. Select Clear System Cache.
  5. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.

Solution 2: Re-download your profile

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller, and then select Home.
  2. Select Download Profile.
  3. Note Not seeing Download Profile? Press X to sign out of your profile.

  4. Enter the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag. If you don’t know your Microsoft account or password, see Find your Microsoft account or password.
  5. Enter your Microsoft account password.
  6. Note If your account is an Xbox Live child account, the parent’s Microsoft account information is required to download the profile. Forgot your password? You can reset it.

  7. Select the storage device that you want to use for your profile (for example, Hard Drive).
  8. Your profile will begin downloading. Once your profile has downloaded, you can choose whether or not you want to require your Microsoft account password to sign in to your profile.

Solution 3: Reset your Xbox 360 console

To reset your Xbox 360 console, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Guide button, go to Settings and then select Turn Off Console.
  2. Turn on your Xbox 360 console.

Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, you can turn on the console by using the Guide button on the controller.
