THINGS TO TRY We cannot guarantee that you will able to change your NAT test results. To try to change your NAT results, follow these steps: | 1. | Enable UPnP on your router.
UPnP is a standard that can help routers communicate effectively together and may eliminate the need to try the following steps.
For specific information about how to enable UPnP for some routers, visit the following Xbox Web site: If the router supports this setting, you should enable this setting to see whether it helps. To do this, follow these steps: | a. | On the left side of the page, click Get Connected, and then click Xbox LIVE Compatible Network Equipment. | | b. | From the Choose a Topic drop-down menu in the center of the page, select How To. If the router is not listed, see the documentation that was included with the router for more information about how to enable port forwarding. |
| | 2. | Remove network devices.
If you have multiple devices that connect through the router, such as an additional Xbox 360 console, a second router, a computer, a laptop, and more, try removing these devices so that only your Xbox 360 is connected. If this method gives you an open NAT, this indicates that the router has compatibility issues when it handles multiple devices. | | 3. | Enable port forwarding on the router.
For specific information about port forwarding for some routers, visit the following Xbox Web site: | a. | On the left side of the page, click Get Connected, and then click Xbox LIVE Compatible Network Equipment. | | b. | From the Choose a Topic drop-down menu in the center of the page, select How To. | If your router is not listed, see the documentation that was included with the router for more information about how to enable port forwarding.
