| AOL High-Speed Broadband
AOL High-Speed Broadband service supports both cable and DSL. Currently, you cannot connect to Xbox LIVE using AOL-provided cable service. If you are using AOL High-Speed Broadband DSL service and you are unable to connect to Xbox LIVE, you might need to enter your AOL user name and password in the PPPoE Settings area of the Xbox Dashboard. Note You do not need to enter your AOL logon information in the Xbox Dashboard if you are connecting with a router. Your router should already include these PPPoE settings. Modify your PPPoE settings to include AOL logon information- Move to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard by using one of these methods:
- Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller, scroll to the right to access Settings, and then select System Settings.
- Select the My Xbox channel, and then scroll to the right to select System Settings.
- Select Network Settings, and then select Configure Network.
- On the Additional Settings tab, select PPPoE Settings, and then do the following:
- Select User Name, enter your AOL screen name in the format "screenname@aol.com", and then select Done.
- Select Password, enter your AOL password, and then select Done.
Note Your AOL user name and password must be entered in lowercase and should not contain special characters or spaces. - On the Edit PPPoE Settings screen, select Done.
- Click Back to return to the main Network Settings area.
- Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection to test the new settings.
If you still cannot connect, visit AOL Help for more information and updates about this issue. |
