| How to Connect Your Xbox to Your TV or VCRTo connect the Xbox video game system to your television:- Connect the Xbox AV connector to the AV port on the Xbox console.

- Connect the color-coded connectors to the corresponding jacks on the TV: yellow to yellow (video), red to red (right audio), and white to white (left audio). Jacks may be on the front or back of the TV.

NoteFor monaural TVs, which have only one audio jack, connect either the right or left audio connector to the audio jack. - Select the appropriate video input on your TV that displays the Xbox game. Common names for video input are Input Select, AUX, Line In, Line, In, Input, Source, or EXT, depending on your TV type. For more information, see your TV manual.
Older model televisions:Older television models may not include an AV input. If your television only contains a cable input or antenna input with an adapter for cable, and does not appear to have an AV input, you will need to purchase an Xbox RF Adapter. This item is sold separately at your Xbox retailer. Front- or rear-projection televisions:Some televisions, especially front- or rear-projection televisions, can be damaged if any video games, including Xbox games, are played on them. Static images presented during the normal course of gameplay may "burn" into the screen, causing a permanent shadow of the static image to appear at all times, even when video games are not being played. Consult your television owner's manual to determine if video games can be played safely on your set. NoteDigital Audio, High Definition Television (HDTV), Component inputs and RF (cable) inputs are not supported by the Standard AV Pack, and require the purchase of a separate AV Pack (such as the High Definition AV Pack, the Advanced AV Pack, or the Xbox RF Adapter).
