How to change your Original Xbox console audio settings

When you use Digital Theater System (DTS), Dolby Surround, or Dolby Digital, you must enable this feature in the Xbox Dashboard settings. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Start your Xbox console without a disc in the disc tray. TheXbox Dashboard appears.
2. On the Main Menu, press the directional pad (D-pad) up or down to select Settings, and then press the A button.
3. Press the D-pad up or down to select Audio, and then press the A button.
4. Press the D-pad up or down to select the type of audio system that you want to use, and then press the A button.
5. If you receive the following message, press the D-pad right or left to select Yes, and then press the A button:
Does your system support [name of audio]?
Note You must have the Xbox Advanced AV Pack or the HDTV AV Packto have the digital audio options in the Dashboard.
