This article describes how to manage the Xbox Memory Unit (MU).
With the Xbox hard disk, you can store many saved games and music files on your Xbox console. To move saved games between consoles, you must have a memory card. Memory cards plug into the top of the controller. By using the memory card, you can store and move saved games.
Although many games support saving to the memory card, some games do not. However, this does not mean that you cannot move saved games.

| 1. | Start your Xbox console with no disc in the disc tray. The Xbox Dashboard appears. |
| 2. | On the Main Menu screen, press the directional pad (D-pad) up or down to select Memory, and then press the A button. |
| 3. | On the Memory screen, press the D-pad left or right to select the controller you want, and then press the A button. The Memory screen lists the Xbox hard disk and any memory cards that you are using. Each memory card is sorted by the controller that it is plugged into.
Note If you have more than one memory card, it may be hard to see the two memory card icons in the controller information area. |
| 4. | A list of all the games that you have saved appears on the following screens: | • | Memory card screen: You can press the D-pad up or down to select the title of your memory card. If you select this option, you can erase the memory card or personalize the memory card by creating your own title. | | • | Hard disk screen: You cannot personalize your Xbox hard disk. |
|
| 5. | Press the D-pad up or down to select the game you want, and then press the D-pad left or right to select the specific saved game. Press the A button to view your saved game options.
Note Xbox sorts saved games by game title. You can copy or delete specific saved games for each game title. |
| 6. | If you only see the option to delete, you have selected the game title, and not a specific saved game. Press the B button to exit the Erase/Confirm screen and return to the game list. |
| 7. | After you select the specific saved game, you can either copy or delete the selected saved game.
Note If you select Copy, you must also select a location you want to copy the game to. After you copy a saved game, you can play the saved game from either the original location or the location you copied the game to. |
Some game titles let you load saved games directly from the memory card. See the specific game documentation for more information about how to do this.
Saved game information is not lost if the console is powered off. If you leave the console unplugged, you must be reset the internal clock.
