Use account recovery in the Xbox Live Dashboard

If you cannot access your account on the Xbox hard disk, you can download your account information when you access the Xbox Live Dashboard. To use account recovery, follow these steps:
1. In the Xbox Live Dashboard, press the B button to view the Select Account screen.
2. On the Select Account screen, press the directional pad (D-pad) up or down to select Account Recovery, and then press the A button. You receive the following message:
After Account Recovery, only your account information on this Xbox will be valid.
3. Press the A button for OK. You view the Account Recovery screen.
4. Enter the following information on the Account Recovery screen:
Gamertag
Credit card information
Telephone number
Postal code
5. After you enter the information, press the D-pad up or down to select Continue, and then press the A button. This process downloads your account information from the Xbox Live service to your Xbox hard disk.
6. If you use account recovery on an Xbox console other than your own, repeat these steps on your own console the next time that you use your Xbox console.
Note This precaution prevents someone else from signing in to Xbox Live on your account. Because you cannot sign in to Xbox Live with one account from more than one location at the same time, you can only save your account information on one console at a time.
