It's great to be able to browse for new game and video content from the Xbox Dashboard. Now you can also get the same content on the web. Everything available in Game Marketplace and Video Marketplace on your console is also available at http://marketplace.xbox.com.
Xbox LIVE Marketplace on the web is also a convenient place to update your account information, manage your download queue, or redeem prepaid codes.
When you buy stuff at Xbox LIVE Marketplace on the web, it's added to the same download queue that your Xbox console uses. The next time you turn the console on and sign in to Xbox LIVE, the download starts automatically.
Download Content from Xbox.com
You can choose content on Xbox LIVE Marketplace on the web and download it right to your Xbox console.
To download content from Xbox LIVE Marketplace on the web:
- Go to http://marketplace.xbox.com and sign in. Use the same e-mail address and password that you used when you signed up for Xbox LIVE.
- Click Games or Videos.
- Find whatever you want to download.
- Click the item, then click Download to Xbox 360.
- The item is added to your download queue. To see your queue, click Go to Queue.
When you turn on your Xbox console and sign in to Xbox LIVE, the content will download to your console automatically.
Manage Your Download Queue
Your download queue at Xbox LIVE Marketplace on the web is identical to the list of active downloads you can see on your console. You can manage the same queue from your console or your computer.
To manage your download queue:
- Go to http://marketplace.xbox.com.
- Click My Account and sign in if you haven't already. Use the same e-mail address and password that you used when you signed up for Xbox LIVE.
- On the left, click Download Queue.
- The item at the top of the queue is downloaded first.
- To remove something from the queue, click the X next to the item.
- To change the top item in the queue, click Move to Top next to the item.
Manage Your Account
You can manage your account from your console, but sometimes it's just easier to use a computer and a keyboard.
To see your account information:
- Go to http://marketplace.xbox.com.
- Click My Account and sign in if you haven't already. Use the same e-mail address and password that you used when you signed up for Xbox LIVE.
- Do any of the following:
- Click Add Microsoft Points to add Points to your Xbox LIVE account.
- Click Contact Information to change your address, phone number, or e-mail address.
- Click Edit Credit Card to change the credit card or billing address for your Xbox LIVE account.
- Click Modify Membership to change or extend your membership, or to pay for your membership with a prepaid code.
- Click Purchase History to see what you've bought.
Redeem Prepaid Codes
You can use prepaid codes for downloads, your membership, or for Microsoft Points. Since you have to type in 25 digits for each code, it's convenient to enter the code using a computer and a keyboard instead of a controller.
To redeem a prepaid code:
- Go to http://marketplace.xbox.com.
- Click My Account and sign in if you haven't already. Use the same e-mail address and password that you used when you signed up for Xbox LIVE.
- On the left, click Redeem Code.
- Type the code, then click Redeem.
Re-download Something You Purchased
Let's say you bought a cool game from Xbox LIVE Marketplace, but later on had to delete it to make room for something else. Did you know that you can download that game again, without paying again? Everything you buy is in your purchase history, and you can download those things again. (Rentals are a different story; for more info, see Video Marketplace.)
To download items from your purchase history:
- Go to http://marketplace.xbox.com.
- Click My Account and sign in if you haven't already. Use the same e-mail address and password that you used when you signed up for Xbox LIVE.
- On the left, click Purchase History.
- Click Games, Game Demos, or Videos to see your purchases in those categories.
- Click Add to Queue next to the item you want to download again.
- To see your queue, click Download Queue on the left side of the page.
