To play your Zune media through the Xbox Dashboard, connect your Zune device to your Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system.
Note
To use Zune with your Xbox 360 console, you'll need to have the latest update for Xbox 360.
To play media files from your Zune
- Connect your Zune's sync cable to a USB port on the Xbox 360 console.
- In the Media area of the Xbox Dashboard, select one of the following options:
- If your Zune is not displayed, press X and select your device.
- Select the type of content you want to play.
Note
Streaming to your Xbox 360 is one-way. You can't stream content from your Xbox 360 to other devices.
Media Sharing with the Zune Software
Xbox 360 supports media sharing from the Zune software on your PC to your console.
With the Zune software, you can manage your library, download music from Zune Marketplace, play and view music, pictures, and video, and share content to your Xbox 360 console. The Zune software comes with the Zune device, but you also can download it and use it on its own. To set up streaming from your Zune software, see Share Media from a PC with Xbox 360.
Note
You can stream only unprotected content and Zune Marketplace content to your console.
