THINGS TO TRYImportant Each Xbox 360 console is manufactured for a specific region. They are coded to only play DVDs that are coded for that region. You can only play DVDs from that region or DVDs that do not have any regional coding. You cannot play DVDs from other regions on your Xbox 360. To try to resolve this problem, follow these steps: | 1. | Determine the DVD region for your Xbox 360 console. This information is on the Xbox 360 console packaging. | | 2. | Find the DVD region information on the DVD package.| • | If the two regions don't match, you won't be able to play the DVD on the console. | | • | If the two regions match and you receive the error message, the console may need to be serviced. | Note This also applies to the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player. |

Regional DVD movies only play on Xbox 360 consoles that were made for the a specific geographic region. For example, North American DVDs are Region 1-coded and work only in Region 1 DVD players. To play a Region 1 DVD, you must have a North American Xbox 360 console. The following is a list of the DVD regions: | • | Region 1: United States, U.S. territories, and Canada | | • | Region 2: Europe, Japan, the Middle East, Egypt, South Africa, and Greenland | | • | Region 3: Taiwan, Korea, Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Singapore | | • | Region 4: Mexico, South and Central America, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, and the Caribbean | | • | Region 5: Russia, Eastern Europe, India, Africa excluding South Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia | | • | Region 6: China |
