When you try to play a DVD on your Xbox 360 console, it will not play. You receive the following error message:
Can’t play DVD. Family settings restrict playback of this DVD.

This problem occurs when the
Family Settings restrictions are set to a level that is lower than the settings of the DVD.

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
| 1. | In the Xbox 360 Dashboard, move to the System section. |
| 2. | Select Family Settings. |
| 3. | Select Console Controls. |
| 4. | Select Video Ratings. |
| 5. | In the section that applies to the DVD that you are trying to play, change the ratings that are allowed. Adjust this setting to allow the specific DVD to play, or select Allow All. |
| 6. | If the Family Settings are set so that the DVD should play but it will not, there may be something wrong with the coding of the DVD. Try the DVD in another DVD player that has parental controls. |
