MORE INFORMATION

System link play

With system link play, you can connect two or more Xbox 360 consoles together to play a multiplayer match. Xbox 360 can support up to 16 consoles for system link play.

Before you set up a system link match, you have to confirm some items:
The game that you want to play has to support system link play. Look at the back of the game box to verify that the system link icon appears on the box. The game box or the game manual will tell you how many players can play a system link match for the game that you want to play.

Note Many games support split-screen multiplayer gameplay. In split-screen multiplayer gameplay, multiple controllers connect to one Xbox 360 console and to one TV.
You have one TV for each Xbox 360 console.
You have the standard Ethernet (RJ45) cables and networking devices to connect the consoles together.

Connect two Xbox 360 consoles together for a system link match

1. Turn off the power to both Xbox 360 consoles.
2. Connect an Ethernet (RJ45) cable to the Ethernet port on the back of each Xbox 360 console.
3. Connect each Xbox 360 console to a separate TV.
4. Follow the game instructions for multiplayer gameplay to start playing.

Connect more than two Xbox 360 consoles together for a system link match

Note To connect more than two consoles together, you must use Ethernet cables and an Ethernet hub, a switch, or a router. Contact a local computer retailer or an online computer store for Ethernet cables and other networking devices.
1. Turn off the power to each Xbox 360 console.
2. Connect each Xbox 360 console to a separate TV.
3. Connect each Xbox 360 console to the hub by using an Ethernet cable.
4. Turn on the hub, turn on the Xbox 360 consoles, and then follow the game instructions for multiplayer gameplay to start playing.
Wireless connection

You can also connect two or more Xbox 360 consoles together for system link play by using the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter.Console-to-console system link wireless networks are also known as ad-hoc networks. In ad-hoc networks, a wireless adapter on one device connects directly to a wireless adapter on another device. An Internet connection isn’t shared in this type of network, and the console-to-console system link connection is typically temporary.
Note Up to four Xbox 360 consoles can be connected by using the Ad-Hoc option.
Items needed for console-to-console system link play:
Two Xbox 360 consoles
Two Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapters
An Xbox 360 game that supports system link play
To wirelessly connect your console to another console, follow these steps:
1. Attach a wireless networking adapter to the back of each console:
a. On each console, go to My Xbox, and then access System Settings.
b. Select Network Settings, Configure Network.
c. On the Basic Settings tab, select your wireless settings.
2. Select Scan for Networks, Create Ad-Hoc Network, and then enter your network settings. (Enter the same information on each console.)
3. If all settings are correct, exit System Settings. The consoles should now be wirelessly connected to each other.
