SYMPTOMS

When you try to play a saved game, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:
saved game corrupted

CAUSE

This issue occurs if a saved game has become corrupted.

THINGS TO TRY

To determine whether a saved game is corrupted, follow these steps:
1. In the Xbox Dashboard in the System area, select Memory, and then press the A button.
2. Select the storage location, and then press the A button.
3. Select Games, and then press the A button.
4. Select the game, and then press the A button.
5. Select the saved game, and then press the A button.
If the saved game file is corrupted, it will be marked as Corrupt Content and will have a yellow exclamation mark.

Unfortunately, you cannot recover saved game files that are corrupted. To protect other content, delete the corrupted saved game file.

This problem only happens on rare occasions. When you try to play a saved game that is corrupted, you may receive an error message depending on how the game saves corrupted files. Some games filter out corrupted content, but other games display an error message.
