Set up an Xbox One guest account
When you have a guest who wants to play side-by-side multiplayer games but doesn’t have an Xbox Live account or gamertag, you can create a guest account on your Xbox One console for one-time use. This temporary account is created as a copy of the account of the person who’s currently signed in to the console.
At the end of the session, when the person whose account was used to create the guest account signs out, the guest account is also signed out and removed from the console.
Note A guest account is different from a guest key. A temporary guest account can only be created while you’re signed in and is deleted as soon as you or your guest signs out. A guest key is a reusable passcode that allows guests to use your console without requiring you to be signed in.

Frequently asked questions
What privacy and online safety settings are applied to a guest account?
If there is only one person signed in to the console, the guest account has the same privacy settings as the host.
If there are multiple household members signed in, the guest account has the same privacy and online safety settings as the family member with the most restrictive settings. For example, if a child is signed in, the guest is restricted by the child's settings.
Can a guest make purchases using the host account's payment instrument?
No, the host's payment options and subscriptions are not added to the guest account. No purchases can be made with a guest account.
Can I save this guest account to use in the future?
No. As soon as either the host or the guest signs out, the guest account is removed from the console. If your guest anticipates playing on this console in the future, we recommend that they create a Microsoft account and gamertag on the console.
