Error C00000A3 and a flashing green light occur when using Kinect on Xbox 360
You see the following error code and message when you use your Kinect sensor:
C00000A3
The device is starting up
This error is accompanied by a flashing green light. If the light continues to flash for more than 90 seconds, you might need to restart your Xbox 360 console, or the console software might need an update.
Solutions
Solution 1: Turn off your Xbox 360 console, wait 90 seconds, and restart
- Turn off your console.
- Wait 90 seconds.
- Restart your console.
If the flashing green light doesn't turn solid after 90 seconds, try the next solution.
Solution 2: Update your Xbox 360 console software
To see if your console software needs an update, follow these steps:

- Insert a Kinect game disc.
- Start the game from the Xbox Dashboard.
- If your console software needs updating, you will see the following message:
Update Required: An update has been found. To apply this update, you must restart your console.
- Select Yes, Restart to install the update.

Solution 3: Request a repair
